This is very pretty, Mike.

Thanks Lois, when I get depressed I stare at the water and let the waves laugh at me.

Thanks Lisa, if you take 10 shots its easy to carefully chose the best, if you take 200 its all about narrowing down the pile.

Can your memory card hold 2000 RAW Files?

I don’t shoot RAW because when I did once, I had to open them all up in Photo Shop and I didn’t have the patience for that! I think I will need to expand my photo skills one of these days…

Mine are Sony ARW files so I can view them like a JPEG. Then I delete bad compositions and out of focus shots before I open them in Lightroom. After editing there I continue in various software and finally Photoshop for resizing and minor adjustments. Rarely do I keep more than 5 no matter how many I shoot. I’m not only obsessive I’m a minimalist! (Don’t forget to back up the keepers).

I am working on that minimalist thing! I take too many photos, especially on vacation. UGH

And I thought I was the only one. You can always try film but you have to take what you get. Don’t laugh, but I used to throw away 90% of my photographs although I might have thousands of negatives somewhere.

No laughing here! I need to delete 90%! It will give me a project to go through all my photos when I retire! 😂

The beauty of water, for me, is that even in still photos like this one, there is movement. You can feel it – I half expect a breeze on my cheeks. It’s lovely.

If you stare at it long enough you might feel the rain on your cheeks which started a minute after this shot.
