Took a chance on a plant for sale, wasn’t sure it was going to make it…they sold it to me for $2! I’ve been giving it lots of love and talking to it, and taking lots of photos. There are at least 10 flowers in various stages open at the moment. Yes, the ants sure do love this flower…as your photo shows. LikeLiked by 3 people Reply Cee said it is a Dahlia but I’ve never seen ants on it like this. Gorgeous flowers, the Amish sell cut ones here for fifty cents a stem. Thinking on that helps me feel less overwhelmed when there is too much to do in a day. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply In my case its very hard to fill the day. Its not bad enough to make me go back to work yet but I can see it in the near future. 🤨 LikeLike Reply Beautiful image. Love the colours. The ants I can do without – little by little they are driving me crazy at present. LikeLiked by 2 people Reply Do you mean like in the Geico commercial? LikeLiked by 1 person Reply That commercial is the best. Not too many of that kind, I’m afraid. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply Stunning close-up of a dahlia – and the ants!! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply I didn’t even see the little guys until I got home. 😎 LikeLike Reply I might have missed the ants had you not pointed them out – the flower is so pretty 🙂 LikeLiked by 1 person Reply Its amazing all the things we don’t see that are right there. I didn’t notice them at all while I was taking the photo. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply That happened to me recently with a ladybird on a rose 🙂 LikeLiked by 1 person Reply A beautiful shot. It reminds me of my peonies. The ants come, one to a bud. They eat a nectar the plant produces to lure them. The ants keep away the thrips. Nicely symbiotic.
