Was there a time when dancers with their fiddles
In children’s circuses could stay their troubles?
There was a time they could cry over books,
But time has sent its maggot on their track.
Under the arc of the sky they are unsafe.
What’s never known is safest in this life.
Under the skysigns they who have no arms
have cleanest hands, and, as the heartless ghost
Alone’s unhurt, so the blind man sees best.
I didn’t know Thomas was a bit of a healthy cynic…this reminds me of my father….a poet at heart himself… he always said: “I’d cried because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.” Not sure of source but he was a great fan of Gibran. (Google accredits Helen Keller, Shakespeare, and even Gandhi…and some random dude who has a blog.)
Beautiful image and great quote, Mike. The texture of the horse’s fur is marvelous as well as the light and your use of black and white. It all works perfectly.
A horse walks into a bar. The bartender says, “Hey!” The horse says, “Sure!”

Lol. Oh I wish I had have thought of that in response to my father – might have got a smack for it, but it might have been worth it.

Thanks John, its truly amazing how friendly these horses are. I’ve never met one I didn’t want to bring home to my backyard, if I had a backyard.
