Thanks Lois, maybe this set is for Amish running shoes. These leaves were bright green but will turn brown eventually. Most are left in the field until much later in the season.
I had no idea what tobacco leaves looked like until recently. These do look like leather. Or discarded faerie wings. The detail is amazing! (And you know how to pronounce Long Island correctly.)
I remembered you asked me last year what I think of your tobacco shot. And I said that you could come closer. As I see my advise works 😆
Nice shot, Mike!
Thanks Alena, you know I like to get close to things and in this case I had to back up. I could have touched the leaves if I didn’t need two hands to hold the camera. 😊
Thanks Tiffany, I was surprised to see it this early. They grow about 9,000 acres in Lancaster County worth an estimated $22 million a year. Today I saw a whole family working in the tobacco fields while the horses watched and giggled. 🐴
Yes I understand and then there is time…students told me once when time goes fast it means your having fun…but I don’t know some how I woke up one day and boom I’m 60 ☺️👵🏻🤣 sending joy
What a great picture, Mike. This looks like leather although, thankfully, no cows were harmed in the making of this photograph.

They don’t all look leathery Morgaine, it was the post processing. I do have one photo in color so you can see what they look like: https://photographyocd.com/2017/08/14/smokings-bad-mkay/

My first impression of this image was that it was fabric – very well constructed.

My first impression was that it might not be the best idea to stand in this guys yard looking in his barn window. 👀

I had no idea they grew tobacco out there, interesting. Great photo, so much texture!

Thanks Hedy, seeing the tobacco drying each season reminds me how fast time goes by. 🏪
