Good question but I know that sometimes the power companies kind of do what they want including taking peoples property. If the farmers were using electricity it would probably be free.
The way I remember it was we could accept their non-negotiable offer, or face Eminent Domain. The State was prepared to simply take the land. It was the old cliche, “They made us an offer we couldn’t refuse”.
Exactly, I’ve heard stories about Eminent Domain with a Pennsylvania Pipeline project. With the Amish I guess they make a deal of wake up with their horses head in their bed! 🐴
That’s a good title and nice photo too

Thanks Alice, with all the insanity going on lately (including Trumps rally) I felt it was appropriate. 🤕

Do we have to politicize the photo blogs, too? It’s one of the few escapes left.

Its a photo of power lines and a bird, interpret it as you see fit.

It is a nice shot of the bird flying overhead.

Thanks David. I found it interesting that there were all these power lines in the middle of Amish farmlands.

I wonder if they’re collecting rent? When those lines were built across our farm, the power company paid us rent for use of the right-of-way.

Thanks Lisa, it was a spur of the moment shot but the bird was nice enough to stick around.
