Haruki Murakami said: “Ice contains no future, just the past, sealed away. As if they’re alive, everything in the world is sealed up inside, clear and distinct. Ice can preserve all kinds of things that way-cleanly, clearly. That’s the essence of ice, the role it plays.”

Yes it was cool but was it cool enough? I was photographing an ice fisherman but couldn’t get as close as I wanted. After much consideration, I decided not to walk out on the ice just for a photo. I’ve been there before-if I know the ice is frozen solid its usually freezing. Thanks for visiting Robert.

..I guess Murakami would say the same about photography… …if he seen your photo. Great work, bro …great comparison by this ice thing.

Thanks Markus. I might have got an amazing image of a bundled up ice fisherman or I may have drowned. Decisions, decisions…

Well there was only one fisherman, the light was really good and I was going for color. But yes, you seem to have captured the whole experience. Basically, they stare at the ice for hours!
