I’m guessing you either grew it, smoked it or photographed it in black and white. By the way what do they do with all the locally grown tobacco?

Grew up on a farm and we raised it. Back then it was used as filler in cigars. Cigars required a very high quality and special variety of tobacco for the wrapper. Tobacco is extremely labor-intensive, requiring some level of handling year-round. And that’s your ag lesson for today.

Thanks! I vaguely remember when we lived in NYC my father would take me to a place where they hand rolled cigars. I also vaguely remember the seventies but its mostly a blur. 🙂
