I think we have to re think the notion that we are going to die so that in the end nothing matters.
There is an infinity of living and breathing in death as well as life. We have regrets and we make mistakes. Life does not just end because the energy that is life does not disappear and will always be there in many guises.
If there is an eternity of living and breathing then i think i do not want to be old and discrepit but to spend my time cultivating character that is worthy of respect.

Maybe you’re not familiar with Bukowski, he was very cynical. I think you have a great outlook on life, just try not to be flattened by trivialities.

death is not an escape

I don’t think he was referring to escape but the fact that people are so caught up in their own bullshit.

We are all traped in many ways big and small. We did it to ourself. Things can be good or bad it is up to us. Time to break free.

I believe the self that we think of is an illusion, sometimes called the ego in Eastern philosophy. To act without thinking about it and simply be is the goal. As Lao Tzu said: The master doesn’t think about his actions-they flow from the core of his being.

Everything is illusion including the self. Like a mirage we see it but its still an illusion.

Here is an article about no self by Jack Kornfield. In it he says: “There never was a self-only our identification makes us think so.” https://tricycle.org/magazine/no-self-or-true-self/

Dont delude yourself. Or listen to someone else opinion and theory. It is what it is. Self is in plain sight. It is what it is. We have memories. We are conscious. Life is real not an illusion

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see. It’s getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn’t matter much to me.

It all depends on what we see and what we choose to do. The key to unlock the lock is in our hands. We owe it to ourself not to be lost for eternity
